Yesterday morning I met with Otake sensei to practice next weeks presentation, but as the weather was perfect Joe and I decided to take the opportunity to ride the giant ferris wheel (Cosmo Clock) that graces the Yokohama skyline and spend the afternoon relaxing around the bayside.

During our first visit to Yokohama in fall of 2008, we tried to go on the ferris wheel in the evening, but the line was over an hour long and at that time we didn't think it was worth it. For the past year I've had a view of the ferris wheel from the windows at IUC, so it was on my list of things to do before we leave Yokohama. At 700 yen a person (about $7.50) it wasn't the cheapest afternoon activity, but the experience was definitely worth doing once. The wheel is about 350 feet high and the ride takes about fifteen minutes. Above is the view of the Red Brick Warehouses, below the view of Landmark Tower.
